Some of the best movies and books ever. Your list will differ and mine will change from time to time.
But, listed below are what I believe are books and movies that are essential to any collection.

The group below are what I currently believe are the 5 best movies of all time in no particular order.

Movies just don't get much better than this. I'm not a huge Kurt Russell fan, but somehow he just pulls this off. I used to absolutely hate Val Kilmer, but his portrayal of Doc Holliday changed my opinion of him. Actually I stopped hating him in Thunderheart, but that is a different story. Most of the supporting actors are also very entertaining in this movie. Seeing Billy Bob Thorton as a loser Faro dealer was rather entertaining and this was the only movie I've actually liked Dana Delaney in. I really could have done without Jason Priestley as the annoying deputy though. I know the acting isn't spectacular, the story line isn't perfect and the history isn't exactly right either. But, this is just one entertaining movie.

I think I was about 10 years old when I first saw this movie. I'll admit, I just didn't get it. Fast forward 8 years when I first started college and it started to make some sense. I watched it again about my second year in college. By then I thought it was freakin' hysterical. I watch it now, several years removed from college, and I finally realized that it was actually the best documentary ever made.

Damn, or should I say f*ck, or should I say "Hello to my leetle frend." This is another movie I discovered in college. Yes I did attend classes and yes I did graduate. The first time I watched this movie I was entirely engrossed. The second time I watched it we turned it into a drinking game. You just try to take a drink every time Pacino says the F word and see how long you last. This is Pacino at his finest. Yes, one could argue for his role in another little movie he was in. But, The Godfather , while being a great movie, sometimes gets a little slow. I haven't seen it in years and I may change my mind once I watch it again.

Being from a small town Scarface was my first introduction into the glamorous world of Organized Crime, cocaine and Miami. I still only really know about one of the above and I'm not saying which one. You could really say this is a story about the American Dream. A poor person with no future in his homeland migrates to the great US of A. He works hard and is good at what he does. After a while he starts his own business and through hard work and good business decisions he has a profitable business, a hot wife and a nice house in the 'burbs. Granted, most of us work hard in a legal industry to get where we are and we don't lose it all because we stick our face in a mountain of cocaine and cross a Columbian drug lord, but surely you can see the similarities.

America at it's finest hour. A more thorough review coming soon, but it's getting late.
