All in all I would give this a fair chase. Although we saw no tornadoes we did see a couple funnel clouds and several vortices form right over our heads. We drove about 375 miles in what is normally a 200 mile round trip drive for me when I travel to Manhattan, KS from Kansas City, MO. I went to bed Friday night surprised that the SPC had not put us in a moderate risk for day 2. When I woke up the next morning we were in a high risk. I thought this was a little over done as there were no backing winds in the high risk area. But, I'm sure the guys at the SPC know a hell of a lot more than I do. I chose to head towards Manhattan, KS for hopeful storm initiation. We saw many towers go up before we made it to Manhattan at around 3:30 pm. Too many towers actually went up and the storms went linear. We kept trying to play the south side hoping one of the storms would get some inflow. Than never exactly happened but we still enjoyed what we saw!!
